Set out on an adventure to Gwangyang, a famous plum blossom tourist destination in Korea.

Gwangyang is located in the southern part of Korea, on the border of Jeolla-do and Gyeongsang-do. The main attraction of a trip to Gwangyang is its nature beauty. Here, you can enjoy a nature-focused trip, exploring the untouched allure of Baegunsan Mountain, which rises to an elevation of 1,200 meters, and Cheong Maesil Farm, renowned for its beautiful plum blossoms in March. Another highlight of Gwangyang is its bulgogi. Gwangyang-style bulgogi is made by grilling meat over charcoal fire, imparting a rich, smoky flavor that’s hard to resist.

  • Introduction

    * Destination suggested by Krivosheyeva Maria (Social Media Manager at KTO Vladivostok Office) Maria manages the social media channel that promotes Korean culture in Russia. She, who loves pristine nature, says she would like to experience a temple stay in the mountains, visit UNESCO heritage sites, and explore unique landscapes in Korea.
“I’m more drawn to the traveling in nature and forests than to exploring cities. I’ve heard that Korea boasts numerous cultural heritage sites and tourist attractions nestled amidst nature. Among them, I think Gwangyang perfectly fits my travel tastes. The city is well-known for its annual plum blossom festival in spring. Moreover, it’s home to a wine museum situated in a vast, cool cave where visitors can savor a diverse range of wines. If I ever get the chance to visit Korea, Gwangyang in Jeollanam-do is definitely on my list,” she said.
